BIOL 1107L Mystery Plasmid SDE Lab Results: Essay Fall Semesters Using the Student Designed Experiment Chart on pages 4-11 and 4-12, the plasmid charts on 4-14, and the semi-log graph papers provided in your lab manual as guidelines , compose a 2-3 page typed, summary essay in response to the following: 1. Which mystery plasmid did you work with (A, B, C)? 2. In your mystery plasmid digestions, what was your DNA size standard, or ladder, and why did you need one? How was it incorporated into your semi-log graph/standard curve? 3. Identify the controls in your mystery plasmid digestion. What is the difference between these controls and your ladder? 4. Provide answers to the data table given on the bottom of page 4-11. Using this table and the plasmid maps on page 4-14, which mystery plasmid do you have? Explain how you came to this conclusion. Provide a copy of 1) the gel electrophoresis of your mystery plasmid digestion and 2) a standard curve on semi-log graph paper of your results.
