Devon Siegel – das257 Human systems: Assignment 1 Part 1: college student in Ithaca, NY in 2009 I need / I use or do the following to meet that need: Air: breathe in and out, stay in an oxygen-rich environment Water: drink clean water from the tap or Brita pitcher Food: eat safe food from dining halls, my fridge, etc. Shelter: pay monthly rent for an apartment in collegetown Warmth: use the thermostat properly, layer clothes, avoid cold weather when possible Health: eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly, sleep adequately (~7 hrs/night) Clothing: buy clothes at local stores Knowledge: attend Cornell University Communication: use phone and computer to stay in touch with people via emails, phone calls, etc. Relationships/Love: spend time with and frequently talk to my friends and family Money: I need money to pay for most things in life so I have a job and rely on my parents for funding Happiness: I spend time around people who make my smile and participate in activities that make me happy Part 2: A member of the Jamestown, Virginia settlement in the early 1600s I need/I use or do the following to meet that need:
