Homework 1 will be available in the Assignments folder on Blackboard late Thursday. It is due next Wednesday. The homework grades will be posted by Monday after the due date. 4 Using Secure Shell Client Secure Shell Client 3.2.9 will be used to access the class web/ftp server access the Linux server remotely more convenient than Putty includes SSH and SFTP clients You can drag and drop files between the Linux server and your home computer. Click Window – New File Transfer to open the Secure File Transfer Window. Click Window – New Terminal to open a new terminal.

5 X11 Forwarding and X Server Xming is a free X Window Server program for Microsoft Windows. In order to run the graphical applications on the remote Linux server from home, we need to run an X server program (Xming etc.) on the local Windows computer and enable X11 forwarding/tunneling in SSH.
