Prof. Block English 2150 The Cat In The Rain (Husband’s version) I guess it could’ve been worse. We were the only Americans in the hotel. My wife and I got a room on the second floor, seaside view. Out the window you could see the war monument and a garden. If it wasn’t raining, my wife and I could’ve gone out to the garden. Unfortunately, it’s raining. Rainy days always make the whole day gloomy and lazy. I just laid on the bed and read. My wife just stood over by the window. She noticed a cat outside. “I’m going down and get that kitty”, my wife said. Why is she talking like that? I guess the rain is making her speech lazy too. But, does she really want to go out in the rain? “I’ll do it,” I offered. “No, I’ll get it. The poor kitty out trying to keep dry under a table.” “Don’t get wet”, I joked. When she left the room, I walked over to the window. She got me curious about the cat. When I looked out the window, I saw the cat under the table, just like my wife
