Assignment #2 December 5, 2006 Prof. Trumbach’s Teaching Professor Trumbach’s theory on the history of Jesus is a skeptical one. He enforces the idea of false sightings and records of Jesus during his life. He claims that according to the words in the Book of Matthew and the Book of Luke, there are many contradictory things about how Jesus went about with his ministry. The Book of Matthew and Luke seem to contradict in their sight and following of Jesus. At one point, Professor Trumbach emphasized, Matthew claims to have seen Jesus walk up a mountain and speak the word and teach his followers the Lord’s Prayer, which was spoken within the speech Jesus had given. However, in the Book of Luke, Luke claims to have seen Jesus walk down onto flat land and give this historical speech. Professor Trumbach doesn’t necessarily depict the Bible as a full out lie. He continues his class by telling us that it is, in fact, possible that the words of the original documents may have been altered. He tells us that the Book of Luke was actually a
