Management Functions 2 Management Functions Developing skills in management is essential in today’s business world. Most working adults are accustom to using different management functions in their everyday life. There are four main functions that are used when developing management skills. Planning, organizing, leading and controlling are just a few functions that are used in management development. Normally these four functions are used in the everyday routine of a working adult. Overall, these functions that are used in management are also used in the everyday life of a working adult. As a working adult it is very hard to complete task without first planning and organizing your situation at hand. According to University of Phoenix text (2007) planning analyzes situations and anticipates the future. Planning is making decisions about the goals and activities that an individual group, work, unit or overall organization will pursue. As a working adult I use a planner on a daily basis. By using a planner it helps to create an organized layout of duties,
