Invisible Children The Invisible Children Inc. was created in response to the incredible reception of the documentary, “Invisible Children.” The film and the organization were founded by filmmakers Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, and Laren Poole from San Diego, California. The film and the organization ultimately share the goal of raising awareness regarding the struggle of the people of Northern Uganda, trapped in the middle of a 20-year-long civil war between the government and the rebel forces of the Lord's Resistance Army. This army is responsible for kidnapping children and turning them into child soldiers, as well as other abuses including abduction, rape, defacement, and killing of civilians. The organization was started in order to allow people to easily contribute to the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Northern Uganda by gaining international sympathy and support toward the betterment of the affected people. Invisible Children has the goal of raising public awareness in an effort to make people get involved and change culture, policy and lives through the fight against unfair
