2 Running head: CASE STUDY: JAMES Case Study: James The first ethical dilemma I discovered in this case study is that James has no experience with relationships. He isn’t very cultured, and doesn’t seem to mind. Instead of James starting his practice in a town he isn’t familiar with, so he can gain multicultural experience, he decides to open his practice in his home town. He also plans on using his father’s business in order to gain clients which isn’t very professional in his field. The way of this problem can be experienced from numerous edges. Above all else, James won't accept appropriate training, which may influence his clients. James will most likely have trouble abiding by the standards as set by APA and ACA (American Counseling Association, 1995). James looks at counseling as an easy profession, which doesn’t take much training. He believes that a person can just jump right into an internship and start counseling clients. This
