Unformatted text preview: IPHY2800 SPSS Orientation AND Assignment 1 Due Recitation 3 Welcome to the wonderful world of SPSS statistics. To use all of the knowledge you are gaining in this class, there will be periodic computer assignments, which will allow you to apply this information. SPSS can be a little tricky in the beginning, but the sooner you understand it the smoother the assignments will go. Taking time now will save hours in the long run. It is recommended that you save your work frequently. SPSS requires a lot of memory, and the computers can "freeze" up because of it. Or, in other words, you can lose all of your work if you don't save at every step. You may work in pairs to generate your results, but every individual must do his or her own write-up and data interpretation. This does not mean changing subject/verb order from another person's write-up. Academic dishonesty is a nasty area, and we would prefer to avoid it all together. If you choose to work with a partner, make sure you know how to do everything...
