Poetry to Me When poetry was first introduced to me I did not take a liking to it. Back then, I knew only of the stereotypical definition of it. Pretty much, I thought poetry was just jumble of rhyming words about love and that it was boring and a waste of time. However, now that I have learned about poetry and all its variations and forms, I realize that poetry can be about anything, anytime, anywhere and importantly, it does not have to rhyme. I especially enjoyed the dinka poems, which were simply about something you love. It was a nice simple poem, which

Another form of poetry I prefer are the haikus because we all got in groups for that poem and it was a fun activity and we had the freedom to write about whatever we wanted. Before learning about all the different types of poetry I did not realize that it could be fun. However, now that I have learned about all the fun types of poems, including dinkas and haikus, poetry can be an exciting topic to cover when you have spare time....
