Project 1 CJ110: Introduction to Law Enforcement Police Corruption Accountability of the Police The Future of Policing in America Project 1 Project 1 is due at 11:55 p.m. EST on the last day of Module 3 and is based on Chapters 1-7. You must submit a paper 500-750 words on one project from the below list, allowing you to concentrate on one of the seven chapters. Chapter 1 Project : Determine the purpose of the police in a democracy or free society, and identify the seven principles that were established in the “Youngstown Accord.” Explain how the police would function under each principle to provide policing services to fit the ideal of each principle. Chapter 2 Project: Explain how understanding history can help us understand how changes in policing can and will occur, and how that knowledge can be used to aid in shaping policing in the future. What lessons have we learned throughout our history that can help us not to make the same mistakes in the future? Give specific examples of the events leading to these lessons, and the steps we need to take to prevent them from happening again.
