April 18, 2008 History Discussion 2 In the 1940’s there was more go on in the United States than war The Four Freedoms: freedom of speech and expression, freedom of religion, freedom of want, and freedom of fear The Four Freedoms only applied to American citizens segregation still occurred Labor working conditions and wages still ranged from person to person Big business war boom Ford was in charge of making military supplies The second great African American migration (300,000 were women) 50,000 Asians, 25,000 Native Americans, aggregated workers from Mexico patriotic assimilation
