Atomic Café Movie Notes In July of 1945, the WWII destruction of Nazi Germany by the Allied forces had ended the fighting in Europe In the Pacific, Japan was desperately fighting a losing battle against America and her allies At Alamogordo, New Mexico, a new and secret weapon was about to be tested in the desert The Trinity Test occurred in New Mexico It was not referred to as the Atomic Bomb but was used as a prelim of what the explosion would look like The Navy Department said, “it was too early to know the affects on the Japanese morale, and we might have to drop four or five more” The atomic bomb left Hiroshima in shambles The group was told to find virgin targets to drop the bomb on so they can do tests to figure out the bomb’s damage (classroom experiment)
