A bullet of mass m = 2 g fired horizontally strikes the block. The block slides 8; distance L = 1 m before stopping. (a) Find the speed of the bullet before it struck the block (For your calculations use g = 10 m/s1. (b) What percentage of the bullet's original kinetic energy is lost as internal energy? (c) Inspection of the block revealed that the bullet travelled 2 cm into the block before stopping. What was the average force exerted on the bullet as it stopped in the block?
