Ryan McCreery ECE Lecture #1 August 26, 2007 Energy Issues Are in Focus in 2007 The first energy seminar lecture was given by Professor David Hammer. He is an electrical and computer engineer who presented the class with issues involving energy usage around the world. Energy usage has become such a vital part of human life. But there are always two sides to everything. The use of energy has caused pollution, additional noise, and has taken up a lot of space. For example, the burning of fossil fuels increases the amount of CO 2 in the atmosphere. This creates pollution and some people even believe that it is causing global warming.
