Hades- Hades as a place is our focus. Hades is not the same thing as Satan. Does not undermine Zeus. Everyone goes to Hades (not like heaven and hell), inside Hades there are separations. Not always a good guy. Kidnaps Persephone and she becomes queen of the dead, she is ok with it. Names: Hades Pluto- roman name Dis- kind of Zeus Depicted with: A cornucopia- ironic because this is related with life, joy,, associated him with fertility Cerberus- 3-headed dog, most scariest dog Hades the Place- Just as lost of the after life as the people from ancient Greece. No one in our society has died and come back. We are trying to understand the world of the dead, if it even exists. No good things happen here, not pure evil but not good things They put a lot of emphasis on death and on preparing for the after life. Took it very seriously. Considered a real place in the Atlantic ocean near Spain. Characters involved: Floating over Hades: The furies The Erionyes Charon, the boat man Cerberus- Very vicious creature who protects Hades from living
