TO: Sean Way, Assistant Professor of Human Resources FROM: Amanda Diaz, HADM 2211 student DATE: August 31, 2008 SUBJECT: What advice would you give Robinson? Within the year Luke Robinson has been at Loft, he has had great initial plans and ideas to turn the image of the human resources department around. In terms of employee advocacy, Robinson’s “HR ambassador” program and “listening posts” were a great start, but in order to really make an impact he should focus these type of advice/counseling programs on the senior managers, not just the employees. Before he can do so, Robinson must complete three tasks: Gain credibility Learn the business Gather data Once the three steps above are complete, Robinson will have to work closely with the senior managers in order to reach the companies goals. Gain Credibility Under the previous CEO, Philip Washington, Robinson’s department was simply seen as an administrative department. Although Robinson is trying to change this image to encompass
