Sam Robinson 4/20/08 Intro to Theatre Little Shop of Horrors Melodramatics Theatre Company/Cornell University On Thursday April 10 th I attended a production of Little Shop of horrors put on by Melodramatics Theatre Company, a student organized and run theatre group at Cornell. The production included a cast and creative team made up of both Cornell and Ithaca students. Little Shop of Horrors takes place on Skid Row, a dirty, dangerous part of town where the poorest of the poor live. Mike Cashman played the main character, Seymour Krelbourn, a down on his luck employee of a Skid Row florist shop who discovers a new breed of plant. Formerly a vocal major at Ithaca College, Cashman was just right for Seymour. His quiet, but beautiful singing matched the meekness of Seymour’s character. You could just feel the tension radiating off of him when he was trying to decide between fame and fortune and doing what was morally right when he was faced with killing the plant. Christina Faico tackled the role of Audrey, a buxsom blonde who is dating a sadistic
