In a world where the world is getting warmer…Bob had to remove his sweatshirt. Why has the environment taken a back seat for so long? We have the means to reduce pollution, energy consumption, and the human impact on the world through alternative energy, yet the US hesitates to address the problem. Part of the problem is the corporate agenda to influence government policy so they may maintain their profit margin at the expense of the environment. Despite the problem of climate change, there are still potential solutions that are beneficial to the economy corporations, society and the environment that can be reached through small changes in lifestyle and government leadership. There’s nothing wrong with auto and energy corporations, they provide jobs, services and products that help the US economy grow and compete globally as well as maintain our standard of living. The problem occurs when the byproducts of their business cause large-scale environmental problems not proportionate to the benefits of
