Week 8 | Self-Reflection Short Essays Name: Jamie Yeates Date:8/24/2016 Self Reflection You’ve spent eight weeks in this course immersing yourself in different types of literature from parables and tales to short stories to plays and screenplays and poetry. In addition, each weekly topic was tied to a faith-based threaded discussion geared toward your delving beneath the literature to a “bigger” look at what motivates characters, what lessons might be learned, how humankind acts, etc. In addition, you conducted “close readings” of these texts, investigated research on authors, poets, their works, literary theory, and other elements. You identified literary elements in your readings, and you applied Reader Response Theory to making personal connections. You even “viewed” a play and screen play in movie formats. Overall, you experienced literature in a broad sweep that took you around the world and through many centuries!
