The purpose of this experiment was to measure the magnetic field in a magnet by placing a loop inside the gap of another magnet. After measuring the magnetic field we will also measure the current and force from the magnetic field. In addition to measuring the current, force and magnetic field, we will use a 10Ω resistor to create a current through a dead loop, and use a scale to determine whether there is a force applied the magnetic is strong enough the change the overall weight of the magnet. We will determine the relationship between the current in the wire and the force. We will also determine the relationship between the length of a current carrying wire and the force experienced by that wire in a magnetic field.
