Additional Interview Questions 1. Describe a problem you recently experienced with an employee who reported to you. How did you solve it? There were issues with the metals getting mixed up out in “the yard”. Higher priced metals were finding there way into stacks sold at a lower price per ton. To alleviate this situation, the yard was sectioned off, keeping each metal reasonably distant from the other to avoid intermingling. 2. Describe a time you had to motivate a staff member who was reluctant to undertake an assignment. Employees are offered bonuses at the end of the year for taking initiative and good performance. There are also rewards given for attendance and timeliness. 3. Give me an example of when you had to provide feedback to a staff member who was performing poorly. How did you go about this and what was the outcome? Talk about problem with employee. Explain the problem and possible outcomes if the behavior is not changed. 4.
