LB 172L— Lab 1 First Week Assignment Finding a Journal Article One of the major goals of this laboratory class is to help you learn how to write a scientific lab report. Many of our expectations for your lab reports come from the requirements from placed upon scientists to publish their own work. This assignment is designed to help you understand some of the reasons behind why you are expected to meet the requirements that we provide. Your task is to (1) print out and bring in a chemistry journal article to lab next week and (2) Write a summary (1 to 2 pages) of the article. One possible place to begin this is at the website . This page has links to all of the journals published by the American Chemical Society. Of these journals, the Journal of the American Chemical Society is the broadest and is expected to publish the most cutting edge advances that would be of interest to a wide range of chemists. The other listed journals are each more specialized. You can also search for an article on a topic that is of particular interest to you.
