There was a period where there were no gods. There was an opening. The opening is known as chaos. In the beginning, chaos was just that opening. Chaos was a woman. The Opening is like a womb. Within that opening was mother earth. Mother earth was a Flat disk. There was an underbelly to mother Earth in this chaos named Tartarus Mother earth and Tartarus were surrounded by Aros. Aros was a procreator (very sexual) These four elements were gods (i.e., Chaos, Aros. Mother Earth and Tartarus) Greeks talked about evolution way before Darwin After those four elements they started towards anthropomorphic gods The Greeks believed we’re born and created by the gods and formed in their image(i.e., we look the way we do because it is wha the Gods look like) We act the way we act (good and evil) because the gods acted this way. They were capable of good and evil Difference B/N MONO/POLYTHESIM!! There was Several generations of gods -The original (4 elements) (i.e., Chaos, Aros. Mother Earth and Tartarus) -The first generation have offspring named the Titans -The titans then have offspring who overthrow them named the Olympians(12 Olympians) “Demeter-food stuff god” Birth of Aphrodite -Cronos castrated Uranus and threw his severed genitals into the ocean and it began to foam and churn. Out of the foam came Aphrodite. what are the offspring of the Olympians= the lesser gods

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
