Unformatted text preview: Joseph Franz April 5, 2008 Eng-W 131 Basgier 2:30 Microtheme 3 In the final scene of Blade Runner the key themes of destiny and fate show up. The replicants are destined to die after four years after their creation. This is due to the fact that after four years, they begin to develop human-like emotions. Despite Roy fighting to survive at the end, he knew that his four years were up and his time had come. The final scene is from a third person view during the fight with some first person mixed in at the end. Rick Deckard plays the role of the lone-hero in the final scene of Blade Runner . The camera work is composed mostly of long-shot with some close-up when it is in first person at the end. The fact that it was raining throughout the final scene creates a sad atmosphere that usually leads to someone dying. When Deckard is about to fall, the music is eerie and up tempo, however, when Roy is dying, a very peaceful, sad music plays through the end. In the final scene of The Matrix...
