Read the first three chapters of the book of Genesis in the Bible (available all over the place, including on-line). Analyze its relationship to "The Bloody Chamber" by looking specifically at the ways that obedience, cruisoty, power and knowledge are dealt with in both texts. In both The Book of Genesis and The Bloody Chamber there are various similarities. Both stories share like messages. These messages include lessons of obedience, curiosity, power and knowledge. While reading The Bloody Chamber , It seems at first that the Marquis wants only to please the young woman. However, one can tell by the narrator’s tone that not everything is, as it seems. It becomes obvious on the couple’s wedding night that the man has a desire for power. When he leads the young girl to their bedchamber and undresses her, he is in control. When he takes her virginity it makes him feel more powerful and manly. Later, when his young wife discovers his secret, the reader can see that by killing, the monstrous man feels prevailing. During
