Notebook Entry #1 “What is the story beneath the story?” Red Pyramid , like all other books, has a story underneath the story. A story that is a visual of how to gain and maintain trust between family members. The story underneath the story is about how Sadie and Carter try to unearth their family’s history and secrets, and help save the world, hoping to discover more about themselves on the way. In the newly introduced world of the exhilarating gods of Olympus, they have nothing but each other. Siblings, Sadie and Carter Kane, are on their own to save the world. Although they receive help on the journey, they have to accustom to each other. They have to learn to depend on each other, learn to trust each other. Most importantly they have to appreciate each other. The Kane siblings have to adapt to the idea that in the darkest of times, all that they have is each other. Who will trust them, if they don’t trust each other? As they battle Set, the God of Chaos, in order to save the world, they realize that Set wasn’t the truly evil one. It was his minion, Face of Horrors. Sadie and Carter digest that in order to get things done, you have to get some and lose some, you have to make sacrifices.
