Nadia Zia Reflective Statement The interactive oral made me realize that Nora was, indeed, a master at lying. Heather mentioned that Nora didn’t even hesitate when she lied about how she got the macaroons to her husband. She’s had years of practice of hiding things from him, which is probably why he never found out about her secret little jobs. This tells me what it may have been like back in that time period; a woman had to deceive in order to be happy. Nora’s lack of authoritative power left her with limited options to get what she wanted. Even if she had started to learn things from others, Helmer would not be happy (hence his bitterness towards Christine as a source to describe her life of independence to Nora, which Kurtis pointed out). But at the same time she was being ignorant too. She let herself believe that her life was perfect, all because she had a husband who “genuinely” loved her. Of course she would occasionally lie to him to let herself have her way while simultaneously pleasing him, but all in the name of love.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
