The Beatles First manager Allan Williams owned the Jaccaranda club (bohemian) and owned clubs in hamburg, germany Brian Epstien—second manager, cleaned up their image, worked in a record store, had money and resources Went in to record their first album with George Martin (producer) John started the Beatles as the Quarrymen, then Paul joined, then George, then Ringo replaced Pete Best Elvis was their idol Ringo was originally a member for the band Rory and the Hurricanes and would frequently fill in for Pete Best Stuart Starcliff was their original bass player “Love me do”—first single, made it to number 17 on the charts in 1962 While on tour with Helen Shapiro “Please, Please me” became the number one record “From me to you” was the third single released They were the first working class singers, with working class accents Melisima--putting a lot of notes in one word The Beatles wouldn’t go to America without having a number one record
