Through the Eyes of a Whistleblower Kevin Martinez Almost half-way into this course, we have discussed my topics involving fraud, deceiving, unethical behavior and social responsibility. Well this case has them all. Reading about Sherry Hunt’s story helped me see the importance of being truthful to yourself and to take matters into your own hands when no one else listens to you. Sherry knew she was an asset to the company, but she also knew why the company was very profitable. Committing fraud of any kind is illegal. Citigroup was in the wrong for selling mortgages to people that couldn’t afford to pay them back. They were in the wrong for buying and selling mortgages with missing forms of documentation. The company and the employees were getting fat checks by selling these defective loans. Sherry had a responsibility to tell her superiors about these actions. But all they did was allocate
