Cadena EWS 280 Community Service Learning Analysis Paper Living in a low-income community and all the problems involved, it is very hard for kids to stay away from problems that will harm their educational careers. What the Boys and Girls Club intends to do, is to help keep kids stay away from the issues low-income communities bring about, such as, gangs, drugs, and violence. The organization is based of several activities for the kids. There is an opportunity for the youth to play games, sports, work with wood, crafting, singing, and dance. Most importantly, every day Monday through Thursday, from four to five the kids participate in Power Hour. During Power Hour, kids must work on their homework, if the kids do not have any homework they are given power sheets to work on. These sheets range from math to English. Every day after power hour, the kids have free time to play around and blend together. The goals and purpose of the Boys and Girls Club is to help out kids with their homework and their difficulties they face with their courses. The club also tries to make kids see that there are other opportunities
