Unformatted text preview: Student Name: David valbuena lift Assignment I I | Do some research on curve ball aerodynamics. If you play soccer, tennis, baseball, golf, or any other sport that involves balls moving through air, this is useful information! Answer the following questions in a short presentation to your class. a. How can a spinning ball have more lift than one that is not spinning? The spinning bearing has a higher relative airspeed over one side of its surface, and will generate lift. If the lifting side is opposed to the gravitational force, it will "fly" farther than a non-spinning bearing. b. Why does the direction of the spin matter? It spins because the forces of the matter. It matters because it will help for where the ball will go and where you need it to go. c. Relate Bernoulli's principle to the sport of your choice. Bernoulli principle compared to soccer is very relatable, it gives you an advantage in being able to rotate the foot around and be able to sprint and kick a soccer ball, If you can increase the range at which you move the feet that created more propulsion. ...
