Case Study: Cisco Systems Account Managers Are Too Busy for TrainingCisco’s management teams can use technology to implements training programs to increase existing skills and keep the right people in the right jobs. All of these skills come together to not only make employees more productive, but increase the intrinsic value of the firm. Before implementing a new training model, we must first assess the needs of the firm and figure out which methods will appeal to the employees. Are we lacking skills in the company? Are we lacking qualified people? Maybe the market has seen substantial changes and we need to flex our business model to stay relevant and competitive. Whenever there is a large shift in business practices, the employees need to buy in. These are the people making the gears turn and without their buy in, the company could suffer massive losses. Because Cisco employees had no responded well to e-learning courses in the past, I would most likely try to phase that out. Instead, I would create a library of videos that can be
