HISTORY 2 Michelangelo was an Italian artist born in 1475 and would later die in 1564 in Rome. He positioned himself as the most popular and famous artists in Italy when he turned his artistic ability into a career. According to Adams, L. S. (2013), Michelangelo did several works. Among his works in sculpture and painting was the ‘Pieta’ and ‘David’ statues. He also did the paintings of Rome Sistine’s Chapel including the Last Judgment. Apart from the major works, Michelangelo also did a number of other works such as the St. Peter sculpture using the marble material in 1504, the St. Pius stature using the same material (marble) in 1503-1504, the Madonna and Child stature between 1503 to 1504. This stature had the dimensions of 85.8 by 82 cm. In his career, Michelangelo the artist did a number of paintings and sculptures but one would ask, what focus did he have and what influenced him?
