The Cleaning and Daily Maintenance of the Lathe Working Area The purpose of the machine shop clean-up and maintenance activities is to keep all parts of the machine shop clean, organized, presentable and accessible at all times. TA’s are to perform a thorough and detailed cleaning at the times assigned on the TA’s daily task-sheet. Keeping the lathe workstation clean and tidy is expected throughout the rest of the shift. There are 6 lathes that require regular maintenance. Two or three TA’s will often be assigned to clean and maintain the lathes at any one time. This group is designed to distribute the work load and allow TA’s to spend more time cleaning each lathe. Working in groups provides a chance for inexperienced TAs to learn cleaning and maintenance practices from more experienced ones. In addition, working in groups creates camaraderie which makes the work go faster and generally more enjoyable.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
