Unformatted text preview: ‘BRAINS IN A VAT’ CONCEPT EXPLAINED The “Brains in a Vat” concept states that a brain in a vat works the same way as a brain inside the human head; but, from the viewpoint of the brain, it will not be able to differentiate between the two scenarios. When the brain is inside the human head, the things that a person is experiencing is actually true, but when it is inside a vat, although it is seeing the same things as the brain inside the human head, but they are all false. If such is the case, then we could never be actually sure whether the things we are doing or seeing is actually happening in reality or not! This concept was used in the movie “The Matrix”. If we study closely, we can also see that there is a similarity between the arguments of “Brains in Vat” and that of Descartes in which he stated that it’s hard to tell...
