With its four rings logo resulting from the merge of the four leading motor manufacturers Audi, Horch, Wanderer and DKW, Audi is a German automobile company known for its innovation of headlights that turned sideways in reducing drag. Founded in 1909, the company is the best- selling motor manufacturers in the world that designs, engineers, produces, markets and distributes luxury vehicles. 1. What are the THREE key components of job descriptions? Please illustrate your answer in relation to Audi. Firstly, job identification is one of the three key components of job descriptions. It includes job title, department, reporting relationships, location, date of analysis, etc. Audi is now recruiting people to take up the post as technicians, therefore job identification is important. The company needs to clearly state the nature and details of the job so as to let people understand what it takes to be a technician in Audi. Being a technician requires technical skills and also be equipped with basic knowledge of the latest technology, people who would like to apply for the post will first have to read the job identification in order to understand more about the post so to know if they are eligible and suitable for the job. Therefore, job identification plays an important part in job descriptions. Secondly, the other key components of job descriptions is responsibilities and duties. This part includes all essential functions and duties of the post that the company would like to recruit employees in filling up the vacancy. Technicians in Audi are responsible for mainly performing assigned work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards, and diagnosing the cause of malfunctions, performing repairs and examining the vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Therefore it requires workers to be efficient and technology-based, so people who are applying for the job should understand what they will have to do and question themselves if their personality suits the job nature. So, vividly stating the responsibilities and duties in job descriptions are crucial as to let applicants know what they will be doing if they are being employed. Lastly, job specification is the most crucial component of job descriptions. Such includes knowledge, skills, abilities, physical requirements, working conditions, education and experience, etc. It shows what kind of person to recruit and what qualities that the candidates are to be tested. The candidates must meet the qualifications, experience and capability requirements listed in job specifications in order to be eligible in working as a technician in Audi.
