Ohlinger 1 Sarah Ohlinger Dr. Hurley Psychology 235 27 April 2008 Because I Said So Analysis Paper Because I Said So, (2007) directed by Michael Lehmann is a romantic comedy starring Diane Keaton, as Daphne Wilder, an overbearing, overprotective single mother who wants nothing more than the best for her three daughters. Milly; played by Mandy Moore, is the youngest of the three, and the only one who has yet to find love. Daphne, worried that Milly will make the same mistake as she did with her ex husband, decides to take control of her love life. Daphne places an online personal ad on her daughter's behalf, screening the answering bachelors herself. Finally she finds Jason, a prospective husband, along with Johnny, a musician who plays at the upscale bar-restaurant where she holds these interviews. Johnny is charming, but strikes her as by far the less stellar candidate. Johnny manages to meet Milly on his own, however, striking up a romance that awkwardly develops into Milly juggling between the two men at the same time. Of course, Milly begins to fall more for Johnny, the candidate whom Daphne does not approve of. Milly finally realizes that her mother is controlling her so much to avoid her own issues. In one scene, Daphne asks Milly what an orgasm feels like, realizing that she’s been depriving herself of finding love even at her old age. Daphne ends up falling for Johnny’s father

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
