AUDIT EXERCISE PAPER TWO2Audit Exercise Paper TwoProduct Demand & Speed AdoptionWith a plethora of selections, Apple has many products for consumers to choose from. We live in a digital age where information is needed and wanted now, not later. People are stuck to social media as if that is the only thing that matters to them. In fact, it is said that we are neurologically attuned to be social creatures because mirror neurons allow us to feel and experience another’s situation as if it were our own (Wagner, 2015). Young adults are lined up for months to receive Apple’s newest product. Every year technology advances chipsets, battery life, etc., and because it enhances the most current phone, people want to be able to use it in theirdaily lives. Apple creates products for human simplicity (Apple, 2016). Because these products are simple and easy to use, its created a huge customer base to which Apple does not disappoint.Factors that could block success of an innovationOne of the factors that blocks success of a products is having another firm put something out before they do. According to the text, “keeping a pipeline of new products and/or processes is difficult at best. There is always danger that another firm will enter the market first” (White &Burton, 2011). Secrets are not always confidential in the business world, and those who enter themarket first with their innovation will block the success of those that follow if they do not improve it successfully. No allowing the creative ideas to flow within the organization will hinder its success in innovations. Also having a structure where only one person has all the say in new ideas and ventures will block success of innovations that employees may have.Competitive Response & Advantage, Standards, and level of novelty of the innovation
AUDIT EXERCISE PAPER TWO3Currently Apple’s close competitor is Microsoft. As stated “Nobody else has really tried to compete with Apple anymore really seriously in hardware…If there’s going to be any competition at all for Apple it will come from Microsoft” (Digler, 2016). Apple has shown growth in profits and products sold. Currently Microsoft remains reliant on the PC market.
