3. Developmentally Appropriate Practice: Early education and care that is carefully planned to
match the diverse interest, abilities, and cultural needs of children at various ages and that is
carried out with respect for and in cooperation with their families
4. Dual-Earner Couples: Couples in which both parents are gainfully employed
5. Family Structures: Various arrangements of people living together with children and possibly
other generations of relatives
