“Eco-tourism” as Oxymoron? By definition, tourism involves transportation.  Unless you walk, bike, or ride a horse, you will  be using fossil fuels and polluting the  environment, no matter what your final  destination  The term eco-tourism has been taken over by  the market – it no longer implies sustainability  but instead is more in line with the broader  idea of any form of tourism involving nature
