Apparent sun- Equation of time- never exceeds 16.4 minutes, difference between mean and apparent Time and arc 24 hours = 360 degrees 1 hour = 15 degrees 4 minutes = 1 degree = 60’ 60 seconds = 1 minute = 15’ 4 seconds = 1 minute Zone time- taking the correction time to make the new time Zone description (ZD)- take longitude and divide by 15 degrees (1 hour) Zones- 15 degrees wide (1 hour wide) The race ADD if Mean sun wins (O: Subtract is mean sun loses )O: The time circle: 1 st - draw in longitude for Greenwich 2 nd - draw in ZT (sun) Take longitude and divide by 15--- gives you ZD Example 165 E/ 15 = 11 hours (ZD) -- GMT Greenwich Mean Time Watch time- (WT) and Watch Error (WE) labeled Fast (F) or slow (S) Local Mean time (LMT)- uses the mean sun as celestial reference point. Sidereal Time- uses the first point of Aries
