MOVIE NOTES MOTORCYCLE DIARIES Motorcycle Diaries Intro He considers this the most awesome travel, buddy, action, physical action. Geography film we could watch for this class It’s from 2004 and is a historical piece that is based on real events and a real person o Ernesto “Che” Guevara Directed by a Brazilian guy named Walter Salice and he really uses the landscape as part of his action It’s based on Journal entries by Ernesto o He and his traveling companion Alberto The film is 130 minutes long Che was involved heavily in the Cuba revolution and was a Marxist but the movie doesn’t really go into that o It’s about a road trip they did across South America and the movie is filmed at the location that they say they are in during the film (pay attention to the subtitles) Where do they go on this adventure? (Che is maybe 23 and Alberto is supposed to be about 30) o They start in Buenos Aires, Argentina (the capital) because they are Argentinians
