Denise Zuniga English 101 J Narrative Essay 9/25/2016 Never Give Up Ever since I was little, I liked being the leader. It didn’t matter what it was, I wanted to lead it. I always thought I was a natural born leader, but I realized that things were going to be different the first day I began high school as a freshman. I didn’t have many friends in grade school, so thought I could sign up for a club to make some friends, while doing fun stuff for school. I signed up for student council with expectations higher than the stars. Little did I know, my ladder to leadership was only two feet tall. As I made my way through the shiny, waxed halls of my new school, I noticed how jam- packed the hallways were. Despite how crowded it was, I couldn’t help feeling excited. Even though I was overwhelmed with all of this new high school stuff, I was focused on one thing today: student council. The student council meeting was taking place in my geography teacher’s room today, and I needed to be there right after my last class. As I made my way into the
