Zoonotic virus – endemic to the U.S. 3 forms: o Lentigenic Minor decrease in production Off feed for a couple days o Mesigenic Bad case of the flu Morbidity – up to 80% Mortality – 30-50% Thin egg shells o Valegenic Source of infection is cistein birds (parrots, macaws, etc.) Outbreak in 2003 in CA Causes mild conjunctivitis Transmitted :  ingestion Incubation = 2-12 days
