BSC 101 Analysis 1 March 30, 2008 I used the catalog and peer reviewed articles, and I used the key word police to search first. The first article and abstract, "An Evaluation of Police Compliance with Domestic Violence Documentation Policy Reform: Improving the Identification of Exposed Children" by John P. Shields, explained the polices and procedures that police use in responses to domestic violence. They were recently modified due to the growing awareness of the impact of domestic violence on children, and the traditional systems struggled to respond appropriately to families experiencing domestic violence. The second article that I found while searching the catalog and peer reviewed articles, "Rethinking the Racialization of Crime: the Significance of Black Firsts" Paul Knepper was about the recialization of crime that represents a significant concept of the social construction of racial identity. In the article, they interviewed twenty-seven African Americans who desegregated the administration of justice in North Carolina, and it also included people who reached the highest position in city police departments, state law enforcement, state legislature and prison administration. When I searched the catalog using thinking and police, I found several articles. One article that I found, "Teaching & Learning Guide for: Ecocriticism in British Romantic Studies (Report)" by Kevin Hutchings, and Charity Matthews reflected the policing in South Africa.
