Syrian sectarian conflict Symptoms The Syrian war has lasted about 5 years. The conflict has driven out 11 million Syrians from their homes. There have been more than 4 million refugees since the beginning of the conflict. Inside Syria, there are about 7.6 million Syrians displaced since the beginning of the conflict and 12.2 million are in need of humanitarian assistance, 5.6 of which are children. The death toll is almost impossible to determine, because it is difficult to distinguish between civilians, rebels, Bashars soldiers, and terrorists. Also, these numbers only reflect reported deaths identified with the victim’s name, date and location of death, not those unreported and not fully identified, so it may undercut the true death toll. Therefore numbers have been collected from several databases. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the death toll is more than 320 000 - 320000-casualties-observatory-group-slams-international-communitys-silence- as-encouraging-bloodshed-140212/ The UN says its 220 000 ?
