Individual Project Collaboration and Project Reflection

Introduction
In the subject Design and Innovation our team (Team 9) designed a wireless laptop and device
charger for our client DIF.Co. Our team consisted of Hamish lambert, Chris Durante, Ella Covington
and myself Alessandra Raineri. All four of us worked collaboratively throughout the design stages to
design a product that solved our problem statement which we set out at the beginning of the
semester. The problem statement is stated below:
“Students carry too many types of chargers, as they are worried they will run out of battery on their
devices which negatively impacts their education.”
Technical Project Review
Reflecting on the past semester I believe our group has gradually improved on our product design
and have come up with a clear idea of our stakeholders and how the product will function.
In the first group assignment I believe we did really well with researching about the charger and we
were all able to put this into a well-structured report. We all completed the work that was assigned
to us and finished it well before the deadline which allowed us to refine our writing. I like how our
group had two meetings throughout the week it was due to see where abouts everyone was at and
read through each other’s work. Yet, at this point in the design process we were still a bit unclear
about who really our stakeholders were. Up until we received feedback from our tutor were we far
more clear on who our primary and secondary market was.
In our second major assessment which was the prototype pitch, we pitched our product very well as
we broke down the different components of our chargers and explained them in our video and class
presentation. For this assessment we only had one meeting regarding the project which I think we
needed one more to really have made the presentation a bit more organised. Yet, I think we needed
to present our idea different perhaps in a more casual way instead of relying too much on notes as
we made it obvious we were reading from notes. For this assessment I felt we left it too last minute,
but I believe everyone was going through exams that week. I like how we made a script to guide us
what to talk about and give us some sort of a script, all though we should have spoke a bit more
