Qualitative Variables: Qualitative variables are also known as categorical variables. These variables are not numerical. These variables are those that can be fit into categories. In simple terms, qualitative variables measure quality. These variables can only be differentiated by type, such as gender, type of dog, ethnicity etc. While these variables can be used to distinguish between data, they concern aspects that cannot be truly measured. Qualitative variables do not denote any sense of numerical ordering. Qualitative variables can typically not be used in descriptive and inferential statistical testing. Quantitative Variables: These variables are numerical. Similar to how qualitative variables measure quality; quantitative variables measure quantity. Quantitative variables may be discrete or continuous. Discrete quantitative variables are whole numbers, where there is a definite separation between any possible values. These variables are attained
