Fall 2007 LAB #4 Key GPC Case 1. This problem is more complex than those we have solved up until now. Break the problem into small pieces BEFORE starting to build the tree. First list the decision alternatives and the relevant states of nature (on the next page): Decision Alternatives Relevant States of Nature d1: Produce A Delay in sales no delay in sales (with sub-decision: High or low sales d11: Price High d12: Price Low d2: Produce B High or low sales d3: Produce C High or low sales 2. Before building the tree, let's decide what types of sensitivity we might want to do later. When we anticipate the needs of the sensitivity analysis, it indicates which variables should be expressed as variables, instead of just entering numbers. Variable(s) we should express as formulas instead of numbers: 3. Build the tree. Hints: Use "Edit" menu, then "Numeric formatting" to set the display to two decimal places . Sketch out the tree first to see where it makes sense to cut and paste.
